CWU Poster Winners: Winged wonders

Nuwave Gallery is thrilled to announce the winners of the Winged Wonders Art Show, a collaboration with Central Washington University Professor Matthew Wenz. The show, designed to highlight the talent of junior-level students, included a special visit from gallery owner Erin Oostra and artist Kyle Krauskopf, who provided professional critiques to the students as they created their posters.

After careful deliberation, Kyle Krauskopf, Erin Oostra, and Jill Schaffer, the director of Keen, selected the following winners:

The other 10 posters in no particular order that will be shown alongside these winners are:

  • Not So Different by Z Morris

  • Some Birds Don't Chirp, They Wine by Niecia Herrera

  • Cranes & Cowboys by Hanna Callender-Bohman

  • American Goldfinch Barn Quilt by Amy Walker

  • Sh!t by Madeline Landon

  • Fly High by Luke Ndolo

  • Goldfinch and Chick by Edwin Tixta

  • Flying Folds by Jennifer Branch

  • Cute, Curious and Bold by Dayana Huayana

  • Winged Wonder by Caleb Cleland

While not all posters could be displayed physically at once, all of the students' works will be available for viewing and purchase on our website at nuwavegallery.co (links will go live Tuesday 4/30). If a poster displayed in the gallery is sold, the buyer can take it home, and Nuwave will replace it with another poster from the collection. Nuwave Gallery hopes that everyone will have the chance to showcase their work throughout May as posters sell and are replaced, or purchased online and shipped to their new homes.

We invite you to join us at Nuwave Gallery to celebrate the incredible talent of Central Washington University's junior-level design students in our Winged Wonders Art Show. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Central Washington's landscape and birds, as captured by these budding artists, and explore the additional artworks and photography by 16 other talented local artists. Don't miss this opportunity to support our local art community and witness the creativity inspired by the natural wonders of our region.
