October ‘23 Show: SHOW’D LOVE

Washington Graffiti with HEED and FAZER | A joint art show at Nuwave Gallery presented by Jason Clifton

"SHOW'D LOVE" represents a Washington-based graffiti art exhibition curated by the talented artist Jason Clifton. Jason, a prominent member of the ONCE AGAIN CREW in Yakima led by FAZER. Jason gratefully acknowledges their support, having been embraced into their crew and events. In a gesture of gratitude and reciprocity, he now extends this love by seizing the opportunity to showcase their artistic prowess at Nuwave Gallery.

Why graffiti art is important:

To many, graffiti art represents true freedom. It's not the kind of freedom given by society's rules, but one rooted in nature's laws. This freedom is bound only by imagination and purposeful actions, showcasing both awe and grace in a captivating way.

Jason Clifton's artistry embodies a fresh take on contemporary portraits, signs, and murals, skillfully crafted using diverse street art techniques. He draws significant inspiration from the vibrant aesthetics of New York and California train graffiti, as well as the distinctive subcultures of Hip Hop and Grunge prevalent in the Northwest. Rooted in the ethos of the Punk Rock and skateboarding lifestyle, Jason's primary medium of expression revolves around the dynamic use of spray paint, augmented by the meticulous application of wheat paste and hand-cut stencils.

Jason Clifton's creative footprint can be traced across the Northwest. In Seattle, his artistic flair graces the walls of SUGAR HILL, while in Everett, one can appreciate his work at the SHAUK Art Center. Yakima is home to his vibrant creations at the Wreckrearion Center, and in Ellensburg, he has made a lasting impression at The Pearl, The Red Pickle, Club 301, Collective Interiors, the Ellensburg skatepark, Re-Runs consignment store, Boogieman Music, and the iconic Cheshire Cat alley mural. One of his most recent endeavors involved producing and installing a striking 9x5 mural in downtown Ellensburg, a poignant tribute to the seminal local band, The Screaming Trees, who played a pioneering role in the early Grunge scene.
